Neil Woodmansey


Neil joined Buckinghamshire fire service in 1985 transferring to Lincoln in 1996. Neil now serving as the USAR Team Manager in Lincolnshire. Neil is also an Operational Officer with responibility for Marine Incident Team and the Swift Water Rescue Team. Holly is now 5 Years old and a fully quallified search dog, only one month after grading Neil and Holly were called out to their first operational mission, the explosion at the Glasgow factory. Holly, along with other search and rescue dogs from various groups worked hard in the efforts to save trapped casualties.
Holly also plays a role in the Brigades Community Fire Safety program, visiting schools and other organisations to assist in imparting pro-active fire safety advice and information on the role of a search and rescue dog.
Neil and Holly have now successfully graded for international deployments, and were deployed to Pakistan Earthquake in 2005

Dave joined Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue,  posted to Lincoln South in 1999 before moving to Lincoln North Station from its opening in 2001, gaining promotion to Crew Manager in 2005, moving to Gainsborough before joining USAR Wholetime in February 2006. Dave

was a member of the interim team from its inception in 2003. Dave along with Alun has taken the lead role on Trench rescue in order to enhance the capability of the USAR team further. Dave is a Phase 1 USAR instructor and a member of  UKFSSART

Darren Stones - Marine Incident Response Team & Swift Water Manager


Dangerous Daz a stable team leader, joined the Service in 1987 stationed at Mablethorpe, becoming  Wholetime in May 2000 posted to Gainsborough Fire Station, before moving to Lincoln North Station. Gaining promotion to Crew manager in 2004 stationed at Skegness. Darren transferred to USAR in October 2006. Darren is now a Rope Rescue supervisor and has successfully completed a diploma in Specialist Rescue Management, through Coventry University. Darren has a keen intrest in Motor Cross, Motorcycling and Mountain Biking, finishing 3rd in the Natioanl Fire Service Cycling Championship 2006.

 Neil Fritzsche


Neil Fritzsche first joined the fire service at Market Rasen in 1975 as a retained fire-fighter, in 1983 he transferred to a whole-time position,stationed at Gainsborough Fire station, in 1987 Neil was promoted to Leading fire-fighter, to Sub Officer in 1989 and Station Officer in 1990 both at Grantham. During this time Neil volunteered to join the United Kingdom Fire Services Search and Rescue Team (UKFSSART) and attended various training courses to enable him up to spearhead a team in Lincolnshire. This team is still operational today and has attended many disasters all over the world, Turkey, India, Macedonia, Rwanda, Algeria, Pakistan, Thailand, Glasgow and Pakistan. Neil has been to Disasters in India 2001, Algeria 2005, Glasgow 2006, United Nations international training exercise in Sweden representing the UK.Neil is now the Operations Manager for LFR and USAR Strategic co-ordinator representing Lincolnshire nationally on the USAR Strategic anagement Group (SMG) and oversees new dimensions equipment managed by the service.

 Andy Ford


Andy Ford joined Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue in 1987 and upon leaving training school joined A1 Lincoln. Promotion to leading firefighter and Sub Officer at Grantham then followed until promotion to Station Officer in 2000. Andy has served at Lincoln,Skegness and Grantham during his career. His service career to date has all been operational based with the exception of a years secondment in which he was instrumental in taking the current USAR team from the concept document through to the handover to Neil Woodmansey. During this time the home, station,training facilities and both wholetime and oncall team were identified in line with the National guidelines.
Andy is one of the 4 advisors who attends USAR incidents as a strategic advisor affording the link between the operational sector and USAR operations.He currently works from Grantham as the Station Manager Operations for the Station Support Group 4 area

Doc Holliday


Doc first joined the Fire Service in Cumbria in 1990 following six years in the Royal Navy. In 1996 Doc was promoted into Lincolnshire as a Leading Firefighter at Spalding. He has since served as a training instructor, Sub Officer at Lincoln South, Station Officer at Boston, Recruitment Co-ordinator, SSG Manager at Both Lincoln North and Boston and is currently leading on a major project based at Headquarters.
Doc first joined UKFSSART as a SAR dog handler in 2002 with Jake. During Jakes time as an operational SAR K9 they worked on a number of missing person searches and were called to the collapse of a large factory in Glasgow. Following Jakes early retirement in 2006 Doc took a break from the world of USAR though he maintained his association with the team particularly those who were training and handling SAR dogs.
During this absence Doc was instrumental in the setting up of the Marine Incident Response team and Swift Water Rescue Teams, he also sat on the Regional Working Group for Water Rescue. In 2007 Doc rejoined the USAR team as an Advisor when Simon Nash retired.
